OUR WINES

2010 Amigoni Viognier

What we like about Viognier (V-Own-Yeah) is that it is a mid-palate wine and is close to a red wine as a white wine can do. This wine is very smooth and has nice apricot and nutty flavors that will serve as a little "anti-freeze" on our February nights. The aroma of Viognier is our favorite and it is fresh, clean and like a fresh spring night on the deck. We barrel aged this Viognier for 1 year on the lees and then it was fined and filtered. We pondered if we should release a white wine at the end of winter, but since Viognier is known as the red wine drinker's white wine, we figured it was perfectly fine.

2010 Urban Cépages

Introducing Urban Cépages, which means "grapevines" in French. This wine is 100% Carignan, and 100% delicious. This is a perfect wine for the Holidays! It is a sophisticated red, medium-bodied with a big nose of dried cranberry and figs, but in the mouth it is silky soft with a nice well-balanced toasty oak finish. We aged the Urban Cépages for ten months, in two to three year old Missouri American Oak barrels.

2010 Amigoni Estate Urban Red - Missouri

This wine is our annual Bordeaux style blend. For this vintage year we moved the percentages of the blend slightly compared to the previous two vintages. This wine is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. We felt that the added percentage of the Cabernet Franc rounded out the fruit layers of the wine and increased the mouthfeel of the wine. This wine was aged about 14 months in a combination of new and one year old barrels. As usual, the wine is ripe and racy, with lots and lots black cherry and a little layer of cherries and earth. Consistently, our vineyard delivers flavors of structure and smooth tannins for this Bordeaux style blend. This wine will age for 5-7 years easily in your cellar.

2009 Amigoni Cabernet Sauvignon

This Cabernet Sauvignon wine has about 10% Cabernet Franc blended to give it the crisp, and fruit forwardness. This wine has aromas of cherry and fresh raspberry. It coats the palate with flavors of generous fruit and medium tannin. Aged 10 months in Missouri American White Oak, this wine is a perfect food wine.

2009 Amigoni Malbec

While Argentina must get credit for putting Malbec on the map, its origins lie in France. The Cahors region in southwest France makes full-bodied, inky Malbecs. Our Malbec is not inky but it is more silky, with lots of ripe plum and carries a little bit of blackberry fruit. Aged for 14 months in Missouri American Oak that weaves in a little dill and smoky hints on the nose, this easy drinking Malbec wine is versatile and would love to be served with your BBQ and pork dishes.

2009 Amigoni Estate Cabernet Franc - Missouri

Our signature grape from our estate vineyard. This full bodied Cab Franc shows structure yet elegance. This wine has aromas of dried plums, raspberry, and ripe, dark cherry. It coats the palate with flavors of dark fruit and medium tannin that give way to a long finish. Aged 18 months in Missouri American White Oak. The world would be a better place if everyone drank more Cab Franc!
